Te Pū o te Toi Level 4 is a bridging programme to further study or to attain higher learning before commencing a degree level. This is open to all cultures; learners who identify as Māori, learners who wish to learn in an environment that reflects kaupapa Māori. “Te Pū o te Toi” meaning “the source of the vine” is part of the narrative that Taawhaki began his ascent to the celestial realms during his journey and search for ‘ngā kete wānanga” or “baskets of knowledge”. The name is a metaphor taken from “Tāwhaki” beginning of his search to attain higher learning.
