Based in Te Kūiti, the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board is the recognised Iwi Authority for Ngāti Maniapoto and corporate trustee of the Maniapoto Fisheries Trust.  Ngāti Maniapoto consists of 35,353 (Census, 2013) tribal members, numerous hapū, marae and papakainga.

We are looking for a superstar administrator to join our organisation, where you will work with a small close-knit team in this busy and rewarding role. The Administration Hub provides high quality administrative and secretarial services to support our business activities. This role is one of two Hub Administrators, reporting to the Executive Assistant to the CEO.

The Hub Administrator is responsible for:

  • Being the first point of contact by phone, and to visitors at our office
  • Coordinating general business and administration processes such as mail, courier services, and photocopying
  • Managing office resources such as the procurement of stationary
  • Managing and monitoring office facilities and vehicles, coordinating repairs and maintenance as required
  • Managing and maintaining the organisation’s records management system
  • Supporting and coordinating event planning and catering requirements
  • Assisting with the formatting, preparation and presentation of documents including the preparation of meeting packs and minute taking as required
  • Working collaboratively across the administration hub to assist with the allocation of workload and support when required


Key attributes sought to be successful in this role:

  • Strong customer service with at least two year’s administration experience
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong and lasting relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and prioritise tasks
  • Results focused with the ability to ‘finish’ tasks
  • Competent computer skills; particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Teams would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori
  • Ability to effectively work with whānau, hapū, iwi and internal/external stakeholders in an efficient yet culturally sensitive and appropriate manner

Nominations and applications for upcoming Maniapoto Māori Trust Board Triennial Elections are now OPEN.

Pursuant to Section 46 of the Māori Trust Boards Act 1955, the Board hereby calls for nominations for the election of SIX (6) members of the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board. The Board also calls upon such of its beneficiaries as have not already enrolled, being persons 18 years and over, to apply to be included on the Board’s Roll of Beneficiaries.


Nominations and applications for enrolment open on Wednesday 10 March 2021, and close at 12 noon on Wednesday 7 April 2021. Nomination and enrolment forms can be obtained by phoning the election helpline on 0800 666 045, or from the Trust office, 49 Taupiri St, Te Kuiti, Ph 07 878 6234 or 0800 668 285.


A candidate must submit a candidate profile statement with their nomination form for sending out with the voting papers to beneficiaries. The nomination form must be signed by at least five beneficiaries who are entitled to vote in the election and witnessed by one or more adult persons. A candidate may at any time withdraw their nomination by notice in writing to the Board.


An election will be held by postal and internet vote if the number of valid nominations received by the closing date for nominations exceeds the number of members required to be elected. The voting period will be from Friday 23 April to Friday 21 May 2021.


The Tribal Register will close on 7 April 2021 for Voting / Electoral process.  If you are not registered and verified on the Tribal Register at this time, you will be ineligible to vote in the 2021 MMTB Elections.  Please ring the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board offices now
