Ngā Aho Rangahau o Maniapoto Symposium

The Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB) is committed to has a goal of developing and growing a strong and vibrantthe Maniapoto economyestate and assist in realising economic potentialby stimulating the Maniapoto and regional economy. To help achieve thisunderpin this objective, the MMTB secured fundding from the Ministry of Primary Industries through the Sustainable Farming Fund to undertake a high-level scoping study, and a series of ancillary tasks in a project named ‘Ngā Aho Rangahau o Maniapoto – Threads of Research’.
Six Crown Research Institutes were commissioned to identify undertake high-level assessments of the biophysical resources across the Maniapoto rohe and from this research several land use opportunities across the Maniapoto rohe were identified followed by aa socio-economic analysis. This process was supported throughout the project by a Maniapoto Māori land block forum.
On the 20 May 2016 the MMTBThe will be releasing the final report from this project will be released at the symposium. Weand warmly welcome all Māori land block owners, Iwi members, key stakeholders and the wider communityittee to come along and engage with presenters the report writers and celebrate in this exciting milestone .milestone.
