What is Kuratahi?

What is the difference between Wānanga Reo & Wānanga Paepae?

Wānanga Reo caters to those who want to learn Te Reo and Wānanga Paepae is for those who wish to learn about the Paepae.

 

Where can I register to attend Kuratahi?

What are the registration requirements?

Kuratahi is intended for all those of Ngāti Maniapoto me ōna hapū maha descent and must be at least 16 years of age.

We also encourage that be available to attend each day: Sunday 10 July to Wednesday 13 July

 

Is there a fee to attend?

Do I need to be fluent in Te Reo Māori to attend?

Kao. Kuratahi provides for and has classes for every level of fluency:

  • Iti te mohio: Little to no knowledge
  • Mārama: Somewhat understand
  • Mātau: Fluent

When registering you will be asked to identify your level of fluency. From the information you provide you will be enrolled into the suitable class accordingly.

 

What time are the classes?

Kuratahi will be run online this year from Sunday 10 to Wednesday 13 July 2022

Class session times are as follows:

Sunday 10 July:                6pm – 8pm
Monday 11 July:               9am – 7.00pm
Tuesday 12 July:               9am – 7.00pm
Wednesday 13 July:        9am – 7.00pm
