Today marks the last day at the Maniapoto Maori Trust Board (MMTB) for Chief Executive, Cadence Kaumoana who has resigned to pursue opportunities in the education sector.
Ms. Kaumoana shares her time at MMTB as one of her most rewarding roles in serving the interests of her tribe.
“It has been an honour and privilege to serve our people and now with the settlement in motion, the future for our iwi is very exciting.”
Supporting the tribe with settlement has been a pinnacle moment in Ms. Kaumoana’s time at MMTB.
“Trustees, kaumātua and staff worked hard to meet with our people and provide time and space for questions, concerns and kōrero to be shared and addressed.”
With the Deed of Settlement now signed, the next steps focus heavily on the transition of MMTB into Te Nehenehenui.
MMTB Chair, Keith Ikin acknowledges the tireless efforts of Ms. Kaumoana during her time at MMTB. “Cadence has been pivotal to the successful positioning of MMTB into Te Nehenehenui. We wish Cadence every success on this next part of her journey.
Cadence has new opportunities that align with her passion in the field of education, and we know as a strategic visionary she will also make a significant impact in those spaces.”
