The Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB) triennial elections process is now underway. Nominations for the election of six generally elected members have now been closed. Confirmation of these candidates will be updated asap
The MMTB are made up of the following trustees:
Six (6) trustees generally elected
Seven (7) trustees appointed by the seven (7) MMTB regional management committees (RMCs),
with one appointment per RMC made.
One (1) trustee appointed by the Kaumātua Kaunihera o Maniapoto
One (1) trustee is appointed by Kīngi Tuheitia
The role of a Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB) Trustee is to govern the organisation. As a prospective candidate, this will be your key role and it will be expected that you will possess the necessary skills to enhance the governance of the organisation.
The Election of Trustees will be carried out by postal and internet voting using the First Past the Post (FPP) voting method. Candidate names will be in alphabetical order on the voting documents.
You must be of Maniapoto descent, 18 years or older and registered on the MMTB register to vote.
Each Iwi member of the MMTB who is 18 years old or over is entitled to enrol on the register (with valid postal address details). Voting papers will be sent to all tribal members whose names appear on the register as at 12 noon on Wednesday 7 April 2021.
It is the responsibility of each adult beneficiary of the MMTB to have their name and correct postal address included on the Roll.
