Marae renovations proving successful

26 May 2021 Marae renovations have been well underway since January of this year, with a number of marae near completion of all renovation work. There are 20 marae across the rohe that have received funding to help create jobs and support local businesses respond to the economic impacts of COVID-19. 14 of these marae have clustered together with the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB), supported by funding managed by the Provincial Development Unit. 10 marae are underway, with the remaining four to commence over the coming months. 2021 Generally Elected Trustee Results Confirmed

The Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB) held the Triennial Election of Trustees over a four week voting period that opened on Friday 23 April and closed at 12 noon Friday 21 May 2021. The official results have now been confirmed, with six Trustees elected. It was declared that Keith Ikin, Bella Takiari-Brame, Rachael Tuwhangai, Dan Te Kanawa, Luke Moss and Wikitōria Tāne are the successful candidates as generally elected Trustees for the MMTB. Vote to change current mandate not achieved

The withdrawal process triggered by Te Whakaminenga o Rereahu (TWoR) to amend the mandate for the settlement of claims within Te Rohe Potae has failed to reach the required 75% support. This means that the existing mandate will continue with the Maniapoto Māori Trust Board (MMTB). Rautaki Reo Returns

For almost five years Te Reo Irirangi o Maniapoto, also known as MFM Te Reo o te Iwi, have been the official guardian and driver of Te Rautaki Reo a Te Nehenehenui, the Ngāti Maniapoto Language Revitalisation Strategy.
